Horse dies after colliding with car in Albrighton
A horse has died following a collision with a car during the evening rush hour.
The driver of the car involved in the accident on the A41 outside Albrighton was taken to Telford's Princess Royal Hospital to be checked over.
Traffic was diverted through Albrighton following the accident at about 6pm today.
It caused the road to be blocked at Rectory Road between the M54 and Wolverhampton for about an hour.
Constable Lee Thomas of West Mercia Police said: "We were called to a road traffic collision at the junction of the A41 by the Albrighton bypass.
"It involved one vehicle and a horse, and caused the road to be completely blocked and impassable.
"Cars were diverted to Albrighton village, while HGVs were stopped and diverted back on to the motorway."
