Ex-Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams to talk on conflict in Ludlow
Former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams will give a talk in Shropshire next week.
The Rt Rev Williams will speak at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on the subject of Conflict, Peace and Justice.
Tickets are already selling fast for the talk on December 9, which will be this year's Olivier Memorial Peace Lecture.
Roger Bartlett, of Ludlow Quakers, which has organised the talk, said it was the result of years of planning.
He said: "We look for our speakers well in advance so I wrote to him at the end of his time at Canterbury in 2012.
"He could not come then, but he said in 2013 that he could accept for 2015."
He said the talk would be particularly topical given the current state of world affairs.
Mr Williams will begin his talk at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 for adults, £10 concessions and £5 for students.
