Market Drayton's 10km road race sold out
Organisers have hailed the 'phenomenal success' of Market Drayton's annual 10km road race after places for 2016 were sold out in just nine weeks.
Runners quickly snapped up the 2,300 spots up for grabs when entries opened for the race in May following this year's event.
Next year's race will be on May 8 and its course will start at Grove School before spanning across the town centre and finishing back at the school.
Event organiser Pauline Newton said: "It's a phenomenal achievement in response to a fantastic local race here in Shropshire.
"It's proving once again why we were voted Best UK 10k in Runners World for last three years and we're hopeful of making it four in a row."
A £50 bonus can be won for any runner who breaks the course record of 30 minutes 39 seconds set by Chris Davies in 2013.
Transfers will be available at a later date should any runners withdraw from the race. Fix Auto will continue as the race's premier sponsor and many local businesses are in discussion to support the event.
Runners can email md10kadvert@gmail.com for more details on the race.
