M&H Plastics Group has bought Market Drayton-based Depicton Ltd, which will result in the closure of the site at Maer Lane Industrial Estate by September.

About 40 people work at the site and officials at M&H have said they hope that some will consider relocating to the group's site in Suffolk.

A statement on behalf of the directors of the M&H Plastics Group said: "We are pleased to announce that M&H Plastics Group has completed the acquisition of Depicton Ltd.

"After detailed assessment of how best to integrate the business into the group, the decision has been reached to relocate manufacture to the London Road Beccles site in Suffolk.

"This will be completed by mid-September 2015 and will result in the closure of the Market Drayton site.

"Staff on the site have been notified and a redundancy process is under way. It is hoped that some staff will consider relocating to M&H."
