Delays warning on A442 in Telford as workers carry out spring clean
Drivers will face two weeks of disruption with lane closures on a major gateway into Telford.
It is so Telford & Wrekin Council can carry out a spring clean of the A442 between the Brockton roundabout and Trench Lock.
The work, which will be staged, will get under way on Monday, April 20, lasting two working weeks and will involve a number of temporary daytime lane closures.
It will include grass cutting of verges, slipways and islands and will also include the central reservation between the Brockton loop and the Brockton roundabout.
The council will also carry out a litter pick of all the grass and woodland areas and road sweeping of the inside lane.
Dave Hanley, service delivery manager for highways and neighbourhood services, said: "We are carrying out this work in response to requests from businesses, parishes and residents of the borough.
"It is all part of ensuring Telford is a destination of choice for being a great place to live, work and visit.
"Our aim is to maintain a clean and tidy environment along our key north to south trunk road and helps to encourage repeat business and leisure tourism.
"In addition and in response to feedback from residents, we will also be carrying out additional grass cuts through the main part of the growing season on all amenity areas across the borough."
