Major road resurfacing scheme coming to Telford
A major road resurfacing scheme is to be carried out in Telford.
The work will begin on April 7, will involve roads in 61 areas across the borough and will take around five weeks to complete.
Councillor Shaun Davies, cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services, said: "Residents in the areas affected are asked to be aware and may need to move parked vehicles.
"While we've scheduled this work in on particular dates, this may need to change as this work is dependent on the weather and temperatures.
"This is another important part of the major £6 million investment in improving the road network over three years as part of our Pride in Your Community programme."
The council says the work involves treating roads in relatively good condition with a layer of aggregate chippings and bitumen emulsion to seal the surface and maintain its condition.
Roads are not expected to be closed although access may be limited for short periods and treatment is normally completed within a day.
The work will carried out on behalf of the Council by RMS Ltd.
Details of all the areas affected with the expected work start date can be found at www.telford.gov.uk/sd
