Mr Smith put Hammer Hill House, near Bridgnorth, on the market in November.
He had been seeking £6.5 million for the estate, and planned to save money by marketing it through his own online estate agency.

But now the property has been reduced to £5.75million and is being advertised on Rightmove.com.
Despite the reduced asking price Mr Smith and his wife Tracy still stand to make a healthy £3.55 million profit after they snapped up the house for £2.2 million in 2000.
Mr Smith set up Poundland with just one shop in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffs, when he was 27 in 1990. He sold his share of the business for £50million in 2002.
