Shropshire Star staff take the ice bucket challenge
Shropshire Star staff made an exhibition of themselves when they took part in the ice bucket challenge craze that is sweeping the country.
Four sales executives from the Shropshire Star advertising department in Shrewsbury braved the street outside their Bellstone office.
James Hazel, 23, Heidi Frost, 42, Samantha Harvey, 50, and Colette Clark, 30, took their places on chairs provided by Morgan's bar as they waited for the cold water and ice to hit.
James said: "It was really, really cold, far colder than I was expecting.
"We were nominated by a colleague and and we found out about it on social media. We thought it was a really good idea and was for a worthy cause. It sort of puts everything in perspective and is raising a lot of money for motor neurone disease.
"Now we have done our challenge we have nominated others in the company and we hope that within Midland News Association we can raise hundreds if not thousands of pounds."
Although only four members of staff took part, there wasn't a shortage of volunteers to dump the icy water over them.
"Quite a crowd had gathered," said James. "Everyone was watching and there was a lot of willingness to throw water over us."
