Shaun Colohan did not enter a plea during his appearance at Welshpool Magistrates Court yesterday.

He was remanded in custody until today when he will appear again via video link.

Dyfed-Powys Police were called to Llanidloes Road, Newtown, at about 1.20pm on Saturday after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man in a distressed state who was standing on the railway bridge over the road.

A specially trained police negotiator talked to the man and persuaded him to come down.
