The rally is one of the highlights of the Young Farmers calendar, with more than 70 competitions taking place during a full day of events and activities.

It will be held on June 21 at The Rolly Farm, Knockin, near Oswestry, and this year the theme is Australia.

Rally secretary Kate Windsor said: "The competitions range from stock judging to cookery, flower arranging and creative arts in our extraordinary home section to brick laying and tractor judging. We also have some light-hearted competitions such as the loudest and most tuneful didgeridoo player, to comedy Australian tourist guide, to possum racing.

"One courageous Shropshire Young Farmer will be crowned king or queen of the jungle in our I'm a Young Farmer, Get Me Out of Here active competition, and the animal man from Telford will be bringing some Australian creepy critters to keep everybody on their toes.

"Clubs from across the county will be working hard on their entries. Members put a huge amount of effort in and it is fantastic to see everybody's achievements on rally day.

"The rally is being held at The Rolly by kind permission of J.H and S.E Roberts and Sons and is kindly being sponsored by local businesses. This year, local businesses will be bringing trade stands to the event."

The rally day is free entry and is open to all Young Farmers members, family, friends and members of the public.

After the rally there will be a dance at 9pmwith Airbag playing. Admission is £5 for members and £10 for non-members.

A pre-rally day will be held to get teams ready on Sunday(June1) at Knockin Village Hall, Oswestry, where other competitions including active team cookery, welding, tug of war and more will be taking place.
