Two fire crews from Telford and an operational officer were also sent to the kitchen fire at a house in The Grove, shortly before 9pm yesterday.
West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Steve Parry confirmed that a paramedic and a fast response vehicle were called to the house.
A woman was treated at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation and a child was checked over as a precaution, but neither needed hospital treatment.
The fire was out when the firefighters arrived but the chip pan was removed from the kitchen.
Firefighters took about 10 minutes to deal with the fire.
