Group plea for plants in Market Drayton
Volunteers are needed to help a group of residents revive a community growing plot in a park this weekend.
Members of the Market Drayton Incredible Edible group are asking helpers to join them on Sunday from 2pm at the corner of the town park, off Manor Gardens.
Residents will be sowing vegetables and are appealing for seeds and small plants.
The group was founded in January last year attended by more than 60 people. As a result, the town council offered the group a corner plot in the town park.
The concept is to use spare land to grow fruit and vegetables for members of the public to help themselves to.
Volunteer Charlotte Hollins said: "
If anyone has spare carrots, parsnips or other veg that they have started in their greenhouse and now don't have space for, please bring them along this Sunday."
