Inspectors praise for Market Drayton school findings
Staff and pupils at a village school are celebrating after receiving praise from education chiefs.
Adderley Primary School, in Adderley, near Market Drayton, has been graded "good" by Government inspectors from Ofsted.
The news was met with delight by acting headteacher Rachael Williams after the school was graded "satisfactory"during in October 2012.
Ms Williams, who is acting head while Angie Frank is on maternity leave, praised staff and pupils and said they are now on track to become an "outstanding" school.
She said: "There is now very little standing in our way of becoming an outstanding school at our next inspection having been told by the Ofsted inspector that the children achieve well and make good, and often outstanding, progress.
"Pupils themselves took an active part in the inspection and were emphatic about their pride in their school and their keenness to attend."
Mrs Williams said pupils told the Ofsted officials they feel part of a large family due the school only having 50 youngsters on its register. The report also praised the range of activities.
The report said: "Those who lead and manage the school, including the governing body, have high aspirations and a determination to improve the standards pupils attain."
