Shropshire sister shocked by brother's death in Goa
A woman from Shropshire today told of her family's shock at learning her brother had died while on holiday in the Indian state of Goa.
The body of Paul Robert Grazier was discovered on Wednesday in a guest house where he had been staying in the village of Anjuna.
Police in northern Goa are said to be treating the death of the 44-year-old, from Larksfield Mews, Brierley Hill, as unnatural.
Mr Grazier's 16-year-old daughter Georgia, his ex-partner, Zoe Matthews, his 67-year-old mother Joan Grazier, and his sister, Julie Cox, are all said to be devastated by the tragedy. Mrs Cox, aged 46, who lives in Claverley near Bridgnorth, said Mr Grazier had left the country to go on holiday on January 7 and had ended up in Goa on February 3 where he rented a room in a guest house.
She said her brother routinely left his room at about 7am each day to go fishing with friends but failed to answer knocks on his door last Wednesday.
She said his friends went fishing without him but when they returned at noon no-one had reported seeing him and they still failed to get an answer from his room.
They became suspicious and alerted the police who then in turn called in firefighters who broke down the door and found Mr Grazier lying dead inside.
Mr Grazier's body is currently being kept at the morgue of the Goa Medical College in Bambolim and his family will soon be trying to have it flown home.
