Lee Shingler, of Glendon Close, Market Drayton, appeared in Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.

He had previously admitted performing a sexual act on a 20-year-old man in Telford on March 13 last year.

The court heard how 35-year-old Shingler had been invited into a flat in Beaconsfield, Brookside, where three men were spending the evening drinking alcohol and playing computer games.

Miss Elizabeth Power, prosecuting, said: "The defendant explained he was bisexual as they were all talking about sexuality, and he knew the victim was straight."

She told the court that Shingler had been encouraged to stay overnight, despite living nearby.

Shingler slept on the sofa while the victim slept on two chairs in the lounge.

The court heard that Shingler performed a sexual act on the victim while the younger man was asleep.

Mr Dean Easthope, for Shingler, said his client has been confused about his sexuality for most of his life.

He said: "This is not a case of him inviting the young man into his house and plying him with drink."

He added: "He has had this hanging over his head for 20 months now and he is very sorry for the young man."
