An address in Haughton Road, Shifnal, was broken into between 11am on Christmas Day and 1.50pm on January 3, when the owner returned home.

In addition to the First World War British Army antique bayonet, a 42-inch high-definition television, a Sony Playstation 2 games console and around £500 worth of Playstation games were also stolen.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who has been offered items similar to those for sale under dubious circumstances, with the bayonet in particular being unusual and distinctive.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
