Mystery Market Drayton death is probed

A police investigation was under way today after a 24-year-old man was found dead in unexplained circumstances in Market Drayton.

The man, named locally as Richie Godsmark, was found at a house in Burgage Close, police said.

Officers are treating his death as unexplained and an investigation has been launched.

Residents in Market Drayton said Mr Godsmark worked for local pie company Palethorpes for the past few months.

Richard Ewels, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "A 24-year-old man was found dead at an address in Burgage Close, Market Drayton on Wednesday. At this stage it is being treated as an unexplained death. A postmortem has been held and results are awaited."
