Virgin legal action 'selfish' says Shrewsbury MP

Sir Richard Branson was today branded 'highly selfish' and urged to 'move on' by a Shropshire MP after the Virgin boss launched a court challenge over the West Coast Main Line rail franchise.

Virgin Trains has tried to derail rivals FirstGroup by sending an 11th-hour application to the High Court asking for a judicial review into the decision to award them the contract instead of Virgin.

But Daniel Kawczynski, Shrewsbury & Atcham MP, has today written an open letter to Sir Richard Branson urging him to drop it.

He added: "The Government cannot be handing out contracts on the back of what is a publicity campaign. Virgin and its bosses should move on and stop being highly selfish.
