Team pursuit Olympic gold medal cyclist Ed Clancy has become the first big name to sign up for next month's Newport Nocturne.

The 27-year-old will be hoping to add the Nocturne title to the gongs he picked up at the Games.

Clancy, who also won bronze in the omnium, has been named in a team of six from Rapha Condor-Sharp to compete at the Nocturne on September 1.

Wolverhampton ace Andy Tennant will also be there after suffering bitter disappointment in the Olympics after missing out on a place in the four-man team pursuit.
