A landmark Shropshire pub looks close to reopening after several offers were put in for the site.
The Bottle and Glass in Picklescott, near Church Stretton, closed last September but is up for sale for £245,000 with agents Hinson Parry.
Bill Parry, from the company, said on Friday several offers had been made for the property. "Offers have been received from a number of interested parties," he said, adding that a decision on the new owners of the site was due shortly.
The gastro-pub frequently won rave reviews for its food, with landlady Paula Gurney blaming the closure on a slump in trade on rising fuel costs and the economic crisis.
The country inn sits close to the Long Mynd and within the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty.
Mrs Gurney said that food sales had been hit by a reduction in people's disposable income, while rising fuel costs meant fewer people were willing to travel to the site.
But a spokesman for Hinson Parry said the pub had plenty going for it.
"It is an area renowned for spectacular scenery which explains its popularity for walking, horse riding and a wide range of outdoor activities," he said.
"The Bottle & Glass, which traded until September 2011, had a reputation for good food and well kept traditional ales."
