Thieves grab charity box from Whitchurch shop

A charity box containing £300 has been stolen from a shop in Whitchurch.

Thieves broke into the office in a portable building at the rear of Discount Carpets in Station Road over the weekend.

Police say they made an untidy search before stealing a charity box for Hope House Children's Hospice which contained about £300.

The incident happened between about 5.30pm on Saturday and 8.45am on Monday. Anyone with information about the theft should call police on 101.
