Woman hurt as car hits lorry

A woman was taken to hospital after her car ploughed into a lorry parked in a lay-by near Whitchurch.

The Audi A4 estate crashed into the lorry on the A525 Hanmer Road at Eglwys Cross at about 9am yesterday.

Emergency services attended the scene and officials said the road was partially blocked for a short time because the car ended up in the carriageway.

Whitchurch firefighter Keith Robinson said the car and lorry drivers were treated for minor injuries by the ambulance service.
