A sword and a machete were found in a car after police followed it for more than five miles into Market Drayton.
Two men were arrested by officers who thought the driver of the Ford Focus was acting suspiciously.
They were arrested on suspicion of going equipped to steal and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
Officers first spotted the car near new homes at Soudley, near Cheswardine, on Sunday morning and followed it to Market Drayton Swimming Centre.
Jason Vernon, 33, and William Steele, 31, both of Crewe, appeared before ma- gistrates yesterday accused of going equipped to steal and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
Both denied the charges and were remanded in custody to appear before Shrewsbury Magistrates Court via video link on May 22.
