It has not taken very long for the newly-elected president of France, François Hollande, to find his feet.

In the article Market fears over Eurozone Crisis (May 8) we see predictable criticism of Britain.

The French really are the world's worst for finding someone else to blame for their woes.

The fact that they couldn't organise the proverbial 'Booze Up in a Wine Cellar' is beside the point.

Their natural antagonism towards the Anglo-Saxons ignores the numerous cemeteries that cover France wherein lie brave heroes from the UK, USA, Australia, Canada and the other Commonwealth Nations such as India who gave their lives that the French, (and the rest of Europe), should be free.

Coming more up-to-date, the UK contribution to the EU is massive, with intolerable interference in our affairs and no benefit to our people.

It would be to our advantage to be rid of these burdens.

The sooner we have a referendum on membership the better.
