Up to 200 homes could be built in a village on the outskirts of Ludlow as the first stage of major developments to the east of the town, it was revealed today.
The homes have been earmarked for Rocks Green, south of the A4117 and close to the A49 Ludlow bypass.
The development is expected to form the first part of 'masterplanned growth' on unused land to the east of the A49 between Sheet Road and Rocks Green.
It is also expected that measures will be brought in to help cyclists and pedestrians cross the A49 to reach Ludlow.
A further seven hectares of land at Ludlow Eco Business Park is also expected to be made available for future employment use.
Ludlow's new £27 million hospital is due to be built in the area over the next two years.
