A pot of £20,000 will be been dished out to community groups and organisations in Market Drayton.
Market Drayton Town Council finance and general purposes committee has recommended that four of the organisations are given all the cash they have asked for.
Eleven groups bid for a total of £36,050.
The proposals, which need to be rubber-stamped by the full council, include £4,500 for the Maurice Chandler Sports Centre, £4,000 for Market Drayton carnival; Music Land and Market Drayton Library Homework Club would each be given £2,000 and the Citizen's Advice Bureaux are handed £1,000.
Four applicants could be getting the full amount of money they requested; Arlon Twinning would receive £1,000, the Civic Society could be given £1,500, the Pezanas Twinning Association given £1,000 and Operation Market Daffodil handed £500.
Councillor Roy Aldcroft, chairman of the committee, said they had worked hard to distribute the money to organisations that will benefit the town.
He said: "We gave to what club put the town first."
