Fast food chain KFC and coffee giant Starbucks have each unveiled plans to invest in 'drive-thru' restaurants at a development site in Oswestry, creating more than 60 jobs.
The global chains are looking to launch premises on the Oswestry Gateway development site near the Mile End roundabout.
Oswestry firm J Ross Developments, which is acting as the agent for Starbucks and KFC, said the proposals formed part of the second phase of development at the Oswestry Gateway site.
The firm says the proposed restaurants will bring a jobs boost to Oswestry and potentially bring further development to the town.
Part of the Oswestry Gateway site has already been developed and includes a Premier Inn Hotel..
A report from J Ross Developments, in support of the latest plans, says: "Starbucks are hoping to employ an estimated 11 full time and six part-time positions whilst KFC will be employing between 40-45 people, of which half will be full time and half part-time."
The report added that both companies would use modern environmentally friendly technology to save energy. A total of 42 car parking spaces would serve the restaurants.
Shropshire Council hopes to make a decision about the plans by May 16.
