Paddy Ashdown to give talk at Ludlow theatre
Former Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown will be in Ludlow this week.
Former Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown will be in Ludlow this week.
He will be giving a talk about his 'extraordinary' life at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Friday and signing copies of his autobiography.
Mary Tolhurst, for Ludlow Assembly Rooms, said: " He will be talking about his extraordinary life and signing copies of his autobiography A Fortunate Life. "We are very much looking forward to welcoming him to Ludlow."
After service as a Royal Marine and as an intelligence officer for the UK security services, Lord Ashdown was MP for Yeovil from 1983 to 2001, and leader of the Liberal Democrats from 1988 until August 1999.
He later became the international High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina .
Lord Ashdown, who is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and other languages, was awarded the GCMG for his work in Bosnia in 2006. He is acknowledged as one of the foremost experts on the Balkans region in Europe.
