Crews said the house was unoccupied at the time but a dog was rescued and one neighbouring property was evacuated as a precaution.
Firefighters said the fire, which broke out just after noon, was caused by hot ash being left in a wheelie bin which was situated outside the property near a heating oil tank.
Steve Palin, watch manager at Hodnet Fire Station, said: "It was a fire involving the heating oil tank at a property.
"It spread to a lean-to, which is used as a garage and office, and then on to a conservatory, which was totally destroyed.
"The fire also affected the outside of a neighbouring property and melted some guttering, but we were there by that stage so it was being brought under control.
"There was nobody in the property at the time. Inside the fire was threatening to spread to the kitchen so six of us went in with breathing apparatus."
