A 71-year-old man had £140 stolen from his wallet at his home in Shifnal after letting in a man who claimed there were 'problems with the water'.
It comes after a man posing as a water engineer stole cash and jewellery from a woman in Dorrington, near Shrewsbury, this week.
The incidents have prompted Severn Trent Water to issue a warning to its customers.
The Shifnal man was targeted just after 6pm on Thursday after the caller told him there was an airlock in the water supply.
The caller turned on the taps in the kitchen and bathroom and told the 71-year-old to keep an eye on the water flow. After the man had left, the pensioner discovered £140 had been taken.
Severn Trent urged people to call 0845 604 1655 to check the identity of callers.
