Watch Shropshire photographer Mark Sisson's video of a great crested grebe family which was the Wildlife on Video winner in the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2011.

The professional 47-year-old wildlife and nature photographer, from Newport, spent five weeks sitting in water to get his video of the grebe family, which he says was captured at a location in Telford.

"For the first couple of weeks I was filming and taking photographs from the bank of the water," says Mark who used the video facility on his SLR camera for the project.

"But once I was comfortable that the birds were happy to be photographed, and once they had got used to me being in the area, I pulled on my neoprene chest waders and got into the water to get nearer to them. I set up the camera just above the water level so it was at the same height as the birds and began filming."

Mark's work is regularly published in an array of books and journals such as BBC Wildlife, Birds and The Countryman, and he has contracts with the RSPB's Image Library for stock image sales. He also runs the leading wildlife photography holiday and workshop business, Natures Images

Thousands of photographers from across the country entered this year's British Wildlife Photography Awards, with just 30 being selected for a specially published picture gallery. See the winning photos here
