AFC Telford United are preparing to test the fitness of their new-look squad – with tomorrow's trip to Aberystwyth Town starting a run of three friendlies in four days.

The Bucks follow up the clash at Park Avenue with another away game at Evo-Stik League premier division newcomers Rushall Olympic on Monday then return home to host League Two Hereford United on Tuesday.

Assistant manager Darren Read will take charge of the side with boss Andy Sinton away for a few days, and he is planning to get some extended playing time into his players' legs.

"We're taking a strong side tomorrow," said Read.

"We're only taking 17 or 18 players to Aberystwyth so the majority of them are going to have to play either the full 90 minutes or for a good hour.

"Those that aren't going to Wales are meeting me at 9am and we're doing a good hour's training first.

"We've got a pretty large squad and a lot of them haven't played too many minutes – but they've done the fitness work and they will be able to cope with playing two or three games in the next week."

The Bucks will not include any trialists in the squad for Aberystwyth, though Read admits there could yet be one or two more arrivals before the season starts on August 13.

"We're always looking to add, but if we had to start the season with what we have now then we would be very happy," said Read.

Entry at Aberystwyth is £5 for adults, £3 for concessions, under-16s £1.

The Welsh Premier side lost 6-1 at home to Wrexham last weekend.
