200 Novelis jobs will go at the end of the month

A Shropshire manufacturing plant will close at the end of the month with the loss of 200 jobs, it was confirmed today.

Workers at Bridgnorth's biggest private employer Novelis have less than four weeks left at the aluminium plant after the job losses were officially announced last year.

Joan Chesney, a spokeswoman for Novelis, confirmed all of the 214 members of staff would be leaving by the end of the month, although some will leave before then.
