A Shropshire man has been banned from all pubs and hotels in Ludlow for 18 months after a late night incident which saw him punch a DJ, a bystander and a landlord.
Mark Grybowicz, 32, of St Michael's Street, Shrewsbury, got into a disagreement with DJ Chris Griffiths over the music he was playing in the Bull Hotel in the Bull Ring, Ludlow, on March 20 last year.
Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday heard that shortly after midnight he punched Mr Griffiths in the face before the commotion spilled outside, where Grybowicz punched bystander Warren Wilson. Grybowicz then thumped Matthew Clarke, landlord of the Bull, when he tried to intervene, the court was told.
Grybowicz admitted three charges of common assault in relation to the incident.
The defendant, who has committed 53 acts of violence and anti-social behaviour over the past 12 years - with many being fuelled by alcohol, was yesterday jailed for six months and handed an exclusion order banning him from 24 licensed premises in Ludlow town centre and some surrounding villages. He has already served 72 days in custody which will be taken into account.
Judge Robert Trevor-Jones said: "You have a very bad record over the past decade or so for repeat offences for violent and threatening behaviour.
"These three offences clearly took place inside and just outside licensed premises and two of your previous offences also occurred in that context.
"Staff in public houses require protection from violence. Licensees also require the courts' protection."
Mr Michael Sherwood-Smith, for Grybowicz, said his client had been "in drink" on the night in question and had pleaded guilty to all three offences.
