Health bosses have approved a deal to buy land for a new £27 million hospital in south Shropshire, it emerged today.
The West Midlands Strategic Health Authority gave Shropshire County Primary Care Trust the go-ahead to buy land at Ludlow's Eco Business Park yesterday for a new hospital in the town.
Papers for yesterday's meeting put the cost of acquiring the site at £1m.
The new facility, which will include the town's two GP surgeries, will replace the current hospital on Gravel Hill.
