A haul of unlicensed sex drugs being sold illegally on the internet has been seized in a Shropshire dawn raid as part of an international operation.

The raid in Ludlow saw £14,000 of unlicensed tablets and gels seized - the biggest haul found - out of nine warrants executed across the UK.

Investigators from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and police officers swooped on the property at 7.30am on Monday as part of the agency's International Internet Week of Action.

Interpol only released the details today due to operational reasons. Agency chiefs today said the haul of 7,000 products discovered in Ludlow were found at a property where two websites selling unlicensed drugs for the medical condition erectile dysfunction were being run.

A man in his 50s was cautioned and quizzed by officers and is now under investigation. His two websites have since been shut down and his computers and documents were seized.

Agency chiefs said these unlicensed drugs could put people's lives at risk.

Nimo Ahmed, head of intelligence at MHRA, said the raid came after the UK Border Agency intercepted a shipment of medicines bound for the Ludlow property.
