Welshpool road blocked as vehicle overturns

A main road near Welshpool was blocked early today when a 4x4 towing a stock trailer overturned.

The driver and cows in the trailer had been released before the emergency services arrived.

A fire crew from Llanfair Caereinion was called to the A458, about a mile out of town on the Llangadfan road just after 8.30am to a report a vehicle and stock trailer had overturned.

"One crew from Llanfair used a rescue pump winch to move the vehicle and make it safe," a Mid and West Wales Fire Service spokesman said.

"The driver had got out of the vehicle and the cows had also been removed before the crew got there."
