A decision on controversial plans for a multi-million pound marina in north Shropshire has been put on hold.

Plans were submitted last year by developers Moore Marine to build a marina for 200 canal boats on the Shropshire Union Canal at Park Heath Farm, Soudley, near Market Drayton.

The application to Shr- opshire Council includes plans for two residential moorings, a marina building including a flat, a repair and maintenance workshop, a boat brokerage hire and sale area, and a toilet and shower block.

But the multi-million pound plans have been met with a host of objections.

It had been hoped a decision could be made in December but today, council officials said they have been unable to set a date for the proposal to go before the planning committee.

A Shropshire Council spokesman said: "A decision has not been made and it's not imminent."
