Police hunting two raiders who assaulted a terrified shop assistant during an attempted robbery at a Bridgnorth newsagents today made a fresh appeal for information.
It comes a week after the two men burst into News Express before threatening staff and demanding money.
They struck the female member of staff on the back of her head, causing minor bruising to her neck, at the store in Princess Drive shortly after 6.30am.
The men ran off empty-handed when confronted by a male member of staff.
Detective Constable Lee Holehouse said: "We particularly want to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of the shop from about 6am to 7am last Friday who saw anything suspicious. Also, if anyone saw a car speeding away from the location at around that time, please contact Bridgnorth police on 0300 333 3000."
He said the two suspects were believed to be young men and were wearing black clothing. One was about 5ft 8in tall and thought to be Asian and the other, around 6ft tall and possibly Afro-Caribbean.
