New open date hope for store

Newtown's long-awaited Tesco superstore could open next month.

Tesco hoped its new store in Pool Road would open last month but failed to complete roadworks in time.

Felix Gummer, spokesman for Tesco, said: "We're hoping to open as early as possible but it all depends on whether the weather allows us to finish the roadworks."
