Inquest to open on river victim

An inquest on an 85-year-old woman found dead in the River Severn at Newtown is likely to open tomorrow.

The pensioner was discovered by a police officer in the river in the town on Monday after she had been reported missing by a concerned neighbour on Saturday.

Emergency services carried out an extensive search.
