Letter: New bus station needs improving

Letter: The other day I had to use the new bus station. I approached up the still disgusting steps from the deserted railway and when I got to the new bus station we all had to stand up because it had been raining and all the seats were wet.

I left by the entry to New Street. What a dreary hole that is. The road needs urgent attention and the walls graffiti-resistant paint.

We all worry about the decline of Wellington and I think priority should be given to that isolated bus station – security lights should be everywhere – ones that record so that the awful steps are cleaned up and the entry from New Street is improved.

If people know they are being watched they will not use the steps as a public toilet.
