Air crash man recovering
A paraglider pilot who was involved in a horrific mid-air crash in which another man died on a Shropshire hillside was in a "comfortable condition" today.
A paraglider pilot who was involved in a horrific mid-air crash in which another man died on a Shropshire hillside was in a "comfortable condition" today.
The man was named by colleagues today as Dennis Wray from the Dales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club in Yorkshire.
He was airlifted to hospital on Saturday after the crash on the Long Mynd at about 2.15pm.
A second man was killed in the accident. He is believed to have been from the South Glamorgan area.
Mr Wray, believed to be in his 40s or 50s, was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and treated for fractured limbs and pelvic injuries.
Meanwhile, a man, believed to be in his 50s, suffered spinal injuries following a separate incident while paragliding at the Midland Gliding Club on the Long Mynd on Friday.
The man had a suspected arm injury. He was immobilised on a spinal board and flown to the RSH.
