Lack of a reply led to mix up over shift
Letter: You really are just a number when it comes to working for a firm. My husband recently returned to work after being off for a few weeks, not too sure whether his shift pattern had changed.

He decided to phone personnel to ask for any information but it was only a answering machine.
Not getting a reply, he then rang back a little later on to speak to someone else, guess what another answering machine.
My husband decided to work out the shift himself, so what happens when he goes to work in the afternoon - they've changed the shifts to all days, so because he was late starting they told him he must continue to work until his shift was over, even though the day shift had all gone home.
What I was livid about is they go on about health and safety and there they are, leaving a worker on his own on an empty plant.
What if anything had happened to him, it doesn't bare thinking about.
He got back after 11.40pm and after a short time unwinding went off to bed to get up again just after 4am to start another nine or more hours shift. And that's someone who has worked for the company for 34 years. Thanks a bunch.
