Yesterday an inquest, which was opened at Ludlow Magistrates Court, heard that Greta had been found hanged at her home address in Racecourse Avenue, Monkmoor, Shrewsbury, at 12.33pm on Wednesday.
The hearing was told the 15-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her body was identified by her mother, Jennifer Burgess.
The inquest was adjourned until January 30, 2009 at Ludlow Magistrates Court.
Today neighbours said they were in shock. They said Greta lived at the house with her mother.
Edna Evans, who lives opposite, said: "They were a nice young family and kept themselves to themselves. They were very quiet and did not seem to mix very much with anyone.
"It's very sad when a young life is taken."
