The Princess RoyalThe Princess Royal will visit Shropshire later this year, when she will be treated to a look at the new and the old.

On October 10 Princess Anne will mix education with industry on visits to the east of the county.

First stop will be The New Options Higford School near Shifnal, a state-of-the-art, integrated school and children's home for young people between eight and 19 who have autism or complex sensory and communication needs.

The facilities are second to none with an environment of an exceptional standard in line with other services within the Options Group Lifelong Support Programme.

Higford is hailed as "an outstanding facility that will lead the way in this specialist sector".

A new, purpose-built campus, it incorporates a range of revolutionary concepts and approaches helping young people with autism and complex sensory and communication needs to make sense of the world around them.

From new facilities and revolutionary expertise, the Princess then moves on to Ketley and a tour of the long established Aga-Rayburn factory.

She could be in for a bargain or two as well because the visit will also take in a trip to the company's discount shop.
