Rugby fans in a Powys town will get the chance to fulfil a childhood dream by lifting the Six Nations trophy.

The trophy, currently held by Wales, will be on show at Tref-y-Clawdd (Knighton) Rugby Club on Wednesday from 11am.

Club chairman David Powell said: "We are delighted the Six Nations trophy will be coming to Knighton this week.

"It's all part of quite an exciting day of activities, which will also feature a tag rugby tournament for junior players."

The Triple Crown trophy will also be on display, which was won by Wales after they defeated England, Scotland and Ireland in the Six Nations, en route to their Six Nations Grand Slam.

The junior tag rugby tournament, which is being held for the first time, has attracted 11 teams and will be run by Mr Powell and Carl Scales, a rugby development officer with the Cardiff Blues. Matches will be played on the rugby club pitch.
