A former Wellington nightclub which closed about three years ago is being transformed into a bar and pub in a £250,000 revamp adding a four star hotel and creating dozens of jobs.
Station Hotel owner Kad Zaman said he was looking to fill 25 vacancies, ranging from bar staff to supervisors and door security.
He said the premises would be a "traditional pub" during the day, before becoming a more up-tempo bar at night. He also intends to accommodate a nine bedroom hotel.
Mr Zaman has owned the Station Hotel for about 13 years said he wanted to bring a hotel to the town after the closure of the Charlton Arms.
He said: "The idea is to put a bar downstairs where Destiny's nightclub was.
"By day it will look like a traditional pub and by night the theme will change. The work started about six or seven months ago
He said the first phase of the refurbishment was costing £250,000 and he expected the next phase to cost a similar amount.
There is currently a small bar open on the floor above the former nightclub but that would also become a bar and traditional-style carvery restaurant in the revamp.
The new bar and pub would be open from 7am-midnight Sundays-Wednesdays and 7am-3am Thursdays-Saturdays, apart from special events.
He estimated it would be another eight or nine months before work would be completed on the hotel, which he hopes will be rated four star, and would create about another 25 jobs.
