Don't let minority ruin plans
LETTER - In reply to Name and Address Supplied, whose letter said the new development in Oswestry raises concerns over foot and mouth and blue tongue, I ask how long did it take for people to think of these excuses to stop Oswestry becoming a better place?
In reply to Name and Address Supplied, whose letter said the new development in Oswestry raises concerns over foot and mouth and blue tongue, I ask how long did it take for people to think of these excuses to stop Oswestry becoming a better place?
Thanks to two people objecting to the last development, which was a health centre, taxpayers' money is now going to be spent on inquiries that will cost thousands of pounds.
They claim the land should remain a village green, but this land was never a village green.
Do you see families sitting and having picnics or children playing football on the land next to the railway?
All I see is dog mess and empty alcohol bottles.
Are we going to let the minority ruin, yet again, what could be a really good move for Oswestry?
The new development night have offices and hopefully a cinema and shops, which will provide jobs for the community and bring people into Oswestry to shop.
Other towns are developing, such as Wrexham and Shrewsbury, and yet Oswestry's plans to develop keep getting put down by the few who want the town to stay as it is - with nothing for teenagers/adults to do, and very few shops.
