Views are ignored by the council
The county council's self-congratulatory PR machine has been working overtime the last fortnight (at our expense) - "excellent" children's services?
The county council's self-congratulatory PR machine has been working overtime the last fortnight (at our expense) - "excellent" children's services?
Can this be the same one that is going to close 20 primary schools, ignored the top priority from youth consultations - a travel and discount card, and is moving into crisis over foster care for disadvantaged children?
This may be the council that asked youths what they wanted then ignored them; and found that residents' main concern was roads before cutting £5m from the road budget.
It consulted on primary school closures and received a 97 per cent "NO" vote - but ignored it!
Perhaps residents' priorities could be given a higher priority than ticking boxes. Let's hope the new unitary council will do better.
